For now Patriot is doing a reasonable job of competing with OCZ on the pricing front, though the Pyro SE series is still slightly more expensive than the Vertex 3 range. That said, when compared to other competitors such as Kingston, the Patriot drives are much cheaper. Therefore we have no problem recommending the new Patriot Pyro SE series as it provides strong performance at a reasonable price.

Small files were written at 161MB/s and read at 123.6MB/s, making the Pyro one of the first SSDs we've seen capable of fast speeds in our demanding small files read test. Patriot came to the table with the mindset to make a fast drive, and price it aggressively, priced near the cheapest 60GB SATA III drives, and the other models priced similarly. It certainly brings a lot of speed to the table at a price point that, last year, would have bought you half the drive the 60GB Pyro is, a value drive that has the consumer winning in the SSD market, and driving competitors to follow suit. The Pyro makes a very strong case in its performance/price ratio and sets to best the Vertex 3 that has done its best to keep the bar high, but the price-to-performance ratio of the Pyro series may be difficult to beat. Patriot's 555MB/s was a little conservative. I was able to knock of the door of 560MB/s when reading from the drive.
Right out of the gate Patriot released a flagship drive with the highest specification rating available.

We loved the copper, silver and black design which looks awesome in person. It's not all about looks though as the Viper Xtreme give us the option to run at 2000MHz and beyond, scoring well in all of our tests whether it is synthetic, real world, overclocking or thermal performance.

This memory kit represents the perfect balance between price and performances. In fact, this 8GB memory kit has a price of about 75EUR, a very good price for such amount of memory. We recommend this memory kit to people that want big quantity of memory at a low price.

Product: Supersonic USB3.0 PEF32GSUSB

It is no news that the USB 3.0 flash drives have very good read speeds compared to their USB 2.0 counterparts, but this last Supersonic drive from Patriot Memory really exceeded my expectations in terms of write speeds, reaching with ease 70256 kbytes/s transfer rate, without the need of extra software.

The Supersonic 32 GB costs around 100 euros, but well worth it if you want speed and have a USB 3.0 port on your computer. In addition, Patriot Memory has managed the problem of overheating.

For most, dollar for dollar, the 8GB kit would be a better buy as it will bring with it more performance in real world applications thanks to the extra RAM on tap. Either way, though, you're getting a great kit of RAM for a great price.
