Default Patriot Torqx Firmware Updates

All of the posts today for the firmware updates are corrupt archives for me, can anyone else confirm?

Looks like they may still be working on it. When I try to extract it says there are no files to extract. (for the 128GB version)

I did obtain the file from another source and it failed the first try and completed the second try. I followed the directions. I now have the "official" Patriot 1571 FW on my 128GB Tprqx.

It was working yesterday when we tested it. I'll work with admin today on fixing the file that is hosted.

In the meantime, if anyone is in immediate need of the Firmware upgrade drop an email address here or PM me. I will get you the firmware upgrade asap.

Our tests have just confirmed that the downloads do work. If anyone is experiencing difficulties still please reply here.

Thanks.

For whatever reaso, I can't get the files to open, can you send me the 256gig files to darksfallen@hotmail.com and to chrisanderson124@comcast.net.

I download them and get the "This does not appear to be a valid archive..." message, also do you have a listing of what this upgrade fixes?

Also you're forum account Patriot_Ben can't be sent PMs.

:P

Same problem here, firmware .zips are corrupt on open, no files to extract on save. You can't use the windows built-in .zip decompressor, I tried with XP and Vista, both failed with corruption or invalid errors.

Performance restore unzips fine through windows.

You can use winrar to unzip the firmware updates

Winrar has a free trial, you do not need to buy the software. www.rarsoft.com

32-bit winrar: http://rarsoft.com/rar/wrar39b4.exe
64-bit winrar: http://rarsoft.com/rar/winrar-x64-39b4.exe

Winwar does work, thank you.

The files are compressed as a winrar file which is another form of a compressed file like zip. There should be many free software out there to uncompress these type of files...

Thanks for the links Globalthreat.

It would be nice to have these files in a more popular format. I can make them work but Patriot will get a lot of support e-mails over this type of format. (especially when it says it's a .zip) I don't use .rar files or winrar and never plan to. I know it would save Patriot a lot of e-mails and work to just put these in a more popular format. (like .zip) since windows can un-zip them. Just a suggestion.
