Default Patriot LX Series 16Giga SD Card --- No partition ... How to recover??

    Hi, all:

I was playing with Patriot LX Series 16Giga SD Card. I don't know what kind of mistakes I've made.
Now, TestDiskis not able to detect any partition on this SD Card. The error message is like
no partition found or selected for recovery
    .

When I try to write a new MBR, TestDisksays:
Write error: Can't write new MBR code.
The situation is very similar to http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ds-620326.html
The solution on the above website is to
get the HDD diagnostics tool for your hard drive by your hard drive manufacturer
. That's why I'm dropping the message here.

So, can anybody give me a hand on how to recover this dead SD card? Extremely depressed.

    Best Regards
    Pei

Can you plug in the card in a computer/PC and try a format? Please see if an SDHC Low Level Format will fix the issue.

The utility and instructions can be downloaded from here and can be done on a PC:

    https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
*** Reformatting will delete all current data on the drive.

Hi, Thank you for your reply Patriot_Ben.

    What I've done is:
    1) start SDFormatter V3.1 without plugging in the SD card through a SD Card reader (Otherwise, SDFormatter V3.1 GUI is not able to be loaded, SDFormatter V3.1 is in Windows memory, but the GUI doesn't show up for hours ---I just can't wait until it shows up)
    2) Then, plug in the SD Card. SDFormatter V3.1 GUI hangs for over 10 minutes before it finally detects the SDHC card in Drive D:. However, it says in Chinese "本驱动程序无法进行SD格式化", which means "This driver program is not able to proceed SD formatting".

In fact, in my device manager, whenever I plugged in this SD Card, I got Device Manager.png
However, without changing the SD Card reader, but only changing the SD Card, I can successfully load this device....

What else can I try please?

    Cheers
    Pei

    Hello,

At this point the best course of action might be to initiate a replacement.

To Initiate an RMA or items relating to warranty, please visit this link here and under ‘troubleshooting’ select your product from the dropdown box and select ‘find solutions,’ select no at the bottom to start a technical case. Please fill out the information:
    http://www.patriotmemory.com/support/techSupportp.jsp

(This link will get your name and contact info into our Support/RMA Portal database. You will then be given a user id and password where you can make replies to your Support/RMA case. Please make a note that you already spoke to a rep regarding your issue. Furthermore afterwards, feel free to login to reply or simply await for the case to be escalated to RMA with further instructions. To escalate the case to rma, please indicate that you’ve spoken to a rep already).
