    How can I measure the transfer (write) rate when doing a backup?

    Hi Neil,

    Depends on the OS.
    If you have Mac OS, you can open the "Activity Monitor" (/Applications/Utilities) and select the "Network" tab at the bottom of the window.
    If you have Windows, you can open the "Task Manager" (right-click on the taskbar) and go to the "Network" tab (I think...don't have it in front of me).

    Both OSes will give you a graph over time.
