Default Got PBO with playon firmware, trying to revert to Official

Hi. I recently recieved my 2nd pbo, but it has the AC Ryan Playon firmware
and i'd like to switch it back to the last official non-beta firmware.

Can anybody tell me how to check the bootcode and if i should
expect any prolbems with just doing a firmware update on it?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Can you tell me where this unit was purchased from? The best course of action maybe to return it to the reseller for a unit with an official firmware on it.

This was an ebay purchase, sadly its the only place left to purchase one that I've found

Some ACRyan firmwares can pose problems when you try to change them. I would strongly recommend making a serial cable as posted here: http://www.patriotmemory.com/forums/...er-666-Seconds.
Changes to firmware via the serial cable are virtually foolproof.

Thank you Patriot_Ben and jamaroney for answering

I decided to temp fate and install B18-61R3 and it worked beautifully! Of course, not knowing when to quit
I tried installing some of the other firmware (earlier releases) and eventually went back to 61R3

A quick question: My original PBO lists the firmware as P020BC18-61 and the firmware from above (The
only one ive seen so far in the 61 revision) lists it as P020BC18-61R3. I hate to be a pain, but since this is a backup
for my main pbo (which, sadly, i may have to RMA due to usb dropouts, but thats another story) I
was wondering where i could find the BC18-61 (non r3) firmware. I'm guessing its the non-beta...

Again, thank you all for your reply's
