Default Hard Drive wants to format when unit starts

Hi guys, wonder if anyone can throw some light on the following issue I have...
Everytime I turn the power (from the remote) on, I get a warning message that I am about to format the HDD.
I have to select CANCEL and everything works fine, all my movies, vid clips etc are all there and work, this started happening after I had the unit unplugged for about a month or so and just restarted it.
    Any help/advice greatly appreciated...

I believe a saw a previous post explaining that when you format the drive with the PBO it create 3 partitions and a few are hidden or something. anyway, best thing to do would be to backup the data then format the drive in the PBO and transfer your data back, this way you shouldn't get the format you drive message again.

That is correct it creates 2 small linux partitions (swap, /tmp/hdd/root) and one large NTFS partition. To tell you the truth I am quite surprise that the previous firmware did not complained about it and asked for the HDD to be formatted.

OK did is the above advises and the unit no longer wants to format the HDD when I turn it on. So for reference to anyone with this issue, format the drive in the unit and not the PC...
