Pyro SE 120 GB not recognized by firmware update software

- I boot windows 7 ultimate off Patriot Pyro SE 120 GB SSD
- I run the firmware upgrade utility from admin account. I downloaded this software off of your web site together
with latest firmware
- SSD firmware is stock 3.3.2

The SSD is NOT recognized/listed by your software despite the fact I boot windows off of it. Mainboard is an
Asus P8Z77.

I've also tried to update an SSD through USB and it is not recognized there
either.

Any suggestions?

Are you running in AHCI or IDE mode?

Did you right click the firmware program and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR? Otherwise the computer won't elevate it sufficiently to access your drives correctly.

I am having the same problem. I'm running in AHCI mode and select run as administrator. Ive swapped the SATA ports around. When I try running in IDE mode I get a BSOD. Could be to do with the Intel Rapid Response Technology program that came with my Motherboard drivers. I tried unistalling it but it said it was 'tied' to the drive and therefore unable to be removed. I'm not using the SE version though. Any help would be welcome.

Don't update your firmware at this stage. 5.0.2 breaks TRIM and you cannot downgrade back to 3.3.2.

If you are using your drive for SSD caching, it probably won't be seen by the firmware update utility. Easiest way to do the upgrade would be to plug it into another computer for the firmware upgrade.

The SSD is my boot drive and I'm not using SSD caching. Would plugging the drive into another computer work even though its has my OS on it?
