Performance problems
I am using my NAS as a DLNA server, with 2 drives (2TB, WD Caviar Green) with RAID 1 mirroring, and am running into repeated problems where the system stops streaming and simply kicks me out of the movie. It has become quite annoying, and has made it almost impossible to watch movies.
I am encoding my movies to 720p in .mp4 format, so it doesn't seem like trans-code or bandwidth should be the issue. (Even a 10/100 shouldn't be stressed by single file streaming a 720p movie in .mp4) If I re-boot the server through the web console, it seems to help ... but that is a really lame solution for something that is supposed to be easy?
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to increase the performance / stop the files from randomly dropping mid-stream.
