    Exclamation XBMC For Android!

I don't have to say much..."Itslife" made an excellent point in the "PBO Alpine Matrix Alpha Firmware" thread which I quoted below. We need you Patriot to get involved with XBMC...or something needs to be done soon. You are being out shined by your competitors. I want so badly to be excited to own this box & XBMC might be your ticket!

I can't believe how long it has taken just to update the alpha version! I expected a lot more from a company like Patriot.

From the little bit of research I have been doing today, it appears that you are unfortunately falling behind your competitors. For example, the Pivos XIOS DS Media Player was updated in June to ICS from 2.3. Furthermore, it was announced that XBMC will be releasing a full Android version and Pivos appears to have a head start as they have been supporting XBMC. (It helps that one of the XBMC developers works for them. But I am sure XBMC would love to hear from Patriot too.) See here for more details on the XBMC announcement: http://xbmc.org/theuni/2012/07/13/xbmc-for-android/

the last gen model the Core apparently went through the same growing pains so i think holding one's breath given current circumstances and past track record is just plain crazy. at this point i'm just going to use the box and keep my eye out for a company that actually knows what they're doing then buy that box. the alpine will eventually become a door stop.
