So how is the development going?
Will there be a final version of v.2?
Thanks for an update.

102 views and not a single reply. Does this device have a future? Or will it be abounded?
Hello ezhik,
Sorry for the late reply. As far as .v2 that was released, that is the final version we have for .v2.
Yes it seems it's finally published on the Patriot official download site.
Anybody knows if I will lose any settings / data when I upgrade the firmware? The release notes are very thin, they only list 3 changes...
I was trying to upgrade the firmware but got an "object error" on both IE 8 and chrome and the firmware couldn't even be uploaded. does anyone have the similar problem and can it be solved?
Thanks
For the record, I finally upgraded last night... it worked fine aside from a very scary moment where after the NAS rebooted there was a blinking orange light and no blue lights for the hard drives. When accessing the web interface I had a message "that it was working, please wait". I was thinking "Working on what?" I was afraid that my hard drives were being reformatted!
However after waiting anxiously for 10-15 minutes all the blue LEDS came back, I was able to access the shares and my data was intact.
I had to redo a few settings, mainy to deactivate unwanted services / plugins and set back a few preferences such as UPS.
I wish Patriot would publish a small Firmware Upgrade guide that would tell us what is supposed to happen, I wouldn't have freaked so much then![]()
Sorry about that. Updating the firmware will restart your system and it does take it's time. It's best to let it run its course and wait for the system to reboot. There are sometimes when the unit won't reboot in which case all you have to do is manually turn it on.
As for Jyoung's question, I have not run into that issue running this firmware. Perhaps you can redownload the firmware and see if that doesn't fix your issue.
Also how are you updating your Javelin? The easiest way is to download the firmware on your computer, access the Javelin through the WEBPasm (using either IE or Chrome), select Administrator, Management, then system upgrade. There, you can locate the file in your computer. That should initiate your firmware update.
