    Hey Guys,

We want you all to know we are listening and value all of your insight. All of your concerns are valid, and we are we are doing the best we can to provide a solid media player that is enjoyable and easy to use for the whole family. Some of these fixes are in the works; and like some have said, some minor problems may unfortunately be limited by the hardware. Our current production units are shipping with the older PBO Core remotes. If anyone would like to make a request, please don’t hesitate to send an e-mail to rma@patriotmem.com with your name and full mailing address. Again, you DO NOT need to ship the small remote in. Our RMA Department will be glad to simply ship this out to you.

    Thank you.

I too was really let down switching from the Core to the Alpine.
BUT if patriot & third party support for the Alpine is anywhere near what it was for the Core, we will soon have another awesome media player. Even though I don't think if I pay $80 for the new device I should have to wait months before it is performing as well as the old. My father-in-law has also switched back to the Core & both our Alpines are just sitting waiting on a decent firmware. I really do think we got a little spoiled with the later stage Core.

WOW I keep hearing about the Core it's like some mythical unicorn player that everyone loves. My buddy who recommended the Alpine is a Core owner but I can't tell him what my experience has been so far for fear of making the guy feel bad. You would think Patriot would have taken lessons learned from the Core and applied them to Alpine dev instead of releasing something that needs constant service patches like the bad old days of Microsoft Windows.

You paid $80 only? I wish I can say the same thing, I paid over $100 with shipping from newegg, as of right now it's a waste of money. I paid to be a beta tester for these clowns' fancy idea of a "great" media player.
