Default SSD speeds low on SATA III

Below are my results on my new MSI GE60 laptop. Any idea why the speeds suck so bad?

I'm not a mind reader, so I don't know what drive you are using. From what I can deduce, I bet you are using a Pyro 120gig (SE version maybe).

You probably have power saving enabled. You need to turn all that off (high performance mode) to get the best benchmark scores.

    PharmD29,

Also, do you have the option for AHCI? If so please enable it.
Please also make sure that you have the latest drivers installed.

Furthermore, can you please also try ATTO?

Can you please test with ATTO Bench to see what you’re getting?
    Atto can be found here:
    http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...k%20v2.46.html

Atto is what we use for our advertised speeds. It'll test the uncompressed read and write speeds.

Sorry didn't realize I didn't put the drive type, it is a Patriot Pyro SE 250. I have attached the ATTO results and as you can see it caps out in the 300's. I have a GE60 laptop from MSI that I am using but I have tried to put the drive in AHCI mode and it won't start, on the load screen it goes to a blue screen then restarts. The only way I can get the drive to fully load is to be in IDE mode, no idea why that is.

Follow the steps here to enable the MSAHCI driver.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976

Then change to AHCI mode in your bios and windows will boot. Then install the Intel 11.1 rapid storage drivers and retest. Let us know if that fixes your problem.

Actually it worked perfectly thanks! Wonder why it was disabled by default, geez.

Are your benchmarks looking better now?
