Default Laggy browser and apk applications

    Hi Everyone,

I tried the stock browser as well as the Dolphin browser (and other apk apps for what it's worth); both were extremely laggy and unusable. I don't really care about other applications but I do want to be able to use the browser. Can anyone please shed some light on this issue or provide me with possible solutions if you also struggled with this? Symptoms include slow and sometimes non-responsive processing speed. The player registers what I typed usually with a 3-5 seconds delay until it actually shows up on screen.

Note: I'm not talking about the actual network browsing speed.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Derek

I don't think that anything can help that; the slow speed is mainly caused by the lack of processing power (Arm processor at 500 Mhz 256 Ram). Another issue is the many services running (Skyviia services) in the background that make the PBO Alpine a media player.

I have a tablet with a 1 Ghz processor with 512 M Ram and browsing is still not as fast as on my PC especially on standard web page (pages not made for mobile devices).

    Cheers !!!

    Hey Snappy,

Thanks for your reply. You know what, I tried upgrading to the newest firmware, it made browsing A LOT more bearable. But when I tried to install z4root, I keep getting stuck after I hit "permanent rooting"...a circle icon shows up and just keeps spinning for 30 mins+. Any clue? Is z4root not compatible with the matrix alpha firmware?

EDIT: AH thanks, saw your post in the other thread. I'll try again!!

If you already had Z4root installed with the previous firmware and did not uninstalled before the firmware upgrade it will cause problem and not work. To make it work now that you reinstalled it on the new firmware just uninstall it (This will delete Z4root previous settings) and then reinstall again. It should now work fine.
