Question Javelin Update - .v2 (beta) AND hard drive standby

So, did anyone try this update yet? and does it solve the problem with hard drives never going in sleep mode/standby?

I just received my Javelin, updated with new firmware, and confirm the problem is still there. it is not related to WOL. Meanwhile, what is the best way to go? I have it to go on standby after 3 minutes... It lasts for maybe 15-20 minutes, then comes back for 3 minutes. Is it better than having no standby at all, have it on during the day, and off during the night?

I have updated to .v2(beta) and set the HDD standby to 30min. Also, I have disabled all built-in plugin services. I only have additional plugins from this forum, Rooter and Optware, enabled. All my HDD in the S4 box can go to standby and can remain there until I access the volume. So, I think HDD standby function works.
I found some threads that said some services by built-in plugin modules such as DLNA scan the file system in interval. So, you may find which plugin prevents the HDD standby by turning all built-in plugins disabled first, then enabling one at a time to check which one causing the problem.

When looking in "administration" of the web interface, I only have Windows Service on. Anywhere else I should look?

Please check my answer in the thread Am I missing something or the System Standby feature of the Javelin is a joke.

Hi sugwookk, just wondering how you updated the firmware, just using the web browser or something else? Because I ran into an "object error" while trying to upload the latest firmware onto the box...

    thanks.

I have downloaded the .v2(beta) firmware file from the first link in the sticky thread Javelin Update - .v2 (beta) adds: Squeezebox, Itunes, Time Machine etc. I got the S4_020122_rc7_4000_v2-beta.upg.zip file. I unzipped the file and then updated the firmware with the file S4_020122_rc7_4000.upg in it using the web interface.
