    Angry Service Status Light

    Hi All,

I recently bought the Javelin S4 Media Center, it arrived yesterday, excited as i was - i set it all up in accordance with the manual, plugged it in and waited for it to boot up...2 minutes went by and still the "Service Status LED" was red....15 minutes later and the status light is still red (at this point im concerned), so i unplugged the unit and plugged it back in and after a few hours.....its still red (at this point im furious).

Before i judge, it may be me doing something wrong (or at least im hoping so).

Ive woke up this morning in a real fowl mood due to this product, please can someone help me with this before i turn into the hulk and smash this crap into a million pieces

    Thanks

Sorry i wasnt expecting the device to fail and i was eager to try it out - and when it failed i felt let down hence the frustrating, i know what its capable of and just wish it would work as intended, btw i am an I.T Support Engineer, so its not like i haven't tried various things to try and get it to work

Well this is not an official support forum... but rather a user forum!

If you wanted help from Patriot you should have opened a support ticket, you would have gotten an answer after at most 48 hours on business days. I suppose you were in a rush and didn't even took the time to do so... Don't blame Patriot if you haven't use their official support method.

Anyway, being a brand new buy you should have been able to exchange it within 30 days from where you bought it. Hope the replacement unit will work as intended!

Look at this thread from a while ago: http://www.patriotmemory.com/forums/...g-Drive-Format

Especially the last post from "kevinkar":
"I have two drives installed but didn't want to RAID them together and set them both up as two separate RAID 0's. That's how to get it set up as JBOD. Double duh. I did that ONCE two years ago and forgot all about it!"
