How to update PBO Firm Ware

My Boot code is : 0000.0202.0018, I don't know which firmware update to be picked is right, P02 (Bootcode 16 or higher) or P61 (Bootcode 16 oor higher) or P61R2 (Bootcode 18 or higher)? Anyone advise?

You have bootcode 18 you can install whatever firmware you want they are all bootcode 18 compatible (Official or semi-official).

I have boot code 27 and installed update P70 now all i get is a rolling logo screen and it won't boot into home screen. Any suggestions?

At the moment, my box is unable to detect .mkv files, unable to show/read subtitle. Any help?

You already have the latest and probably last firmware P70R2 for the PBO. I recommend that you try mkvclean or reencode your mkv files to see if it helps. If memory serves the PBO does not support the lastest mkv header format. Some unofficial firmware might help with that .... I am not sure which one though. To upgrade/downgrade or install unofficial firmware use the screen menu (system).

You are probably in PAL mode versus NTSC mode; just press your TV SYS button on your remote and see if this helps.

You might have a corrupted firmware; if you can access your PBO using telnet I recommend you try the following:

1) copy a known good firmware (install.img) to the root of a fat32 formatted USB stick.
2) Insert USB stick in the PBO.

Now telnet to the PBO and issue the following command:

# kill -6 1

This should force the PBO to flash the firmware available on the USB stick.
