Hello,
What make and model motherboard/system do you have? Can you make sure that the drive is in AHCI Mode?
Make sure that you are on sata port 0 or 1.
Is this your primary boot drive? If so, what os do you have on there?
Yes my sata is port 0 and is prime boot drive and AHCI was enabled before i installed win7 so it is enabled. My motherboard is an ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 z68 LGA1155.
This problem happens randomly. Ill start my pc many times without this happening and then it will start here and there and go away again for a while.
Are you on the latest firmware?
Try flashing it to 5.0.2.

Also, make sure that you have the latest sata drivers installed from Asrock.
Let me know if this helps.
Yes i have the latest Firmware as stated in my first post of the thread. ill have to look into that about the asrock sata port drivers.....
so i looked at ASRock and dont see any direct sata driver...http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z68%2...nload&o=Win764 i have all intel drivers installed tho.
INF has sata storage support in it and thats the driver i have from ASRock. so lloks like its installed

Sorry that I missed that. It does sound like the drive could be going bad.
How long have you had the drive? Has this just occurred recently?
Do you have the latest BIOS installed for your motherboard?
Please install this as well if it is not on it.
This has happened about a week ago. It had started about a week or two after getting the drive. I have had it since sometime in March of this year....
will updating/flashing my BIOS be a possible problem...
Hello,
No, updating the BIOS should be pretty seamless. As long as there is an option to flash the BIOS outside of Windows, you should not have any risks or very minimal.
Please give this a try. Otherwise, what we can do is replace the drive for you. Please advise.
Updated my BIOS and got a bluescreen for a slit second and then restarted and was fine. think it tried to boot from the usb device again for the bios update not sure. I will report back if the start up error occurs again(select boot-disk)* i dont know how to make or what makes it happen so time will tell if this helped.
Okay so this problem just happened again. I haven't done anything to my pc since last time i reported on this. I was just thinking tho, could this be a problem with my sata cable or more likely to be the driver itself?
