    Default Wildfire SSD 240GB Issues

    Hi there,

I have been using my SSD for a few months now and have always had some minor issues with it. Initially, I thought I would wait out a firmware update and see if this would solve it. I updated the firmware to 5.01, hoping this would solve the issues. However, I now get BSOD every few days or so.

I'm a graphic designer so I often have a lot of programmes open at once - would this make a difference? I heard something about Intel Rapid Storage causing a problem - I currently have this in use. Can I switch it off without uninstalling? The drive is about half full.

It seems the problem is getting worse and worse - in the last week or so I have frequent BSOD, lock ups (sometimes if you leave it for a few minutes it comes back on, other times it doesn't) I find this incredibly infuriating because If I forget to save (I am now very much a CTRL + S man after buying this drive) then I am screwed.

I have also found that after a lock up/BSOD -The drive seems to decrease in free space. I delete my temp files using CC and look in the temp directory for my Photoshop Temp file, but there seems to be a few GB that just disappear each time. I get the impression this drive was defective from the off and my 'hoping' was rather silly. Could someone please advise me on what to try out? Or do you think the drive needs to be returned?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I'm using a Sony Vaio, Windows 7 64 BIT, Intel Dual Core i7, I tested and the AHCI is enabled.

    Hello,

Can you try FW version 5.0.2 to see if this helps?
