Default Computer locks up when streaming from PBO

    Hello,

I have been using a PBO for several years now and have never really had any problems that I could not work around or fix but this is a new one.

Occasionally when streaming from my desktop where I have all of my media stored the computer will lock up. The only way to reboot it is to unplug the power source, holding the power button down after this has happened does not shut down the computer.

It only happens when I am streaming from my PBO's otherwise I never have that problem. It is also a relatively new problem so I am not sure what to make of it.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Well I am pretty certain that the problem is with your PC; possibly a network card or Motherboard Network circuit if you are using the build in Network. It could also be caused by a disk error locking up your system. The easiest thing to do for now to try to eliminate some parts would be to try to stream from a different medium (DVD drive or USB Connected stick on your PC) and see if the computer still locks up. You could also install a different network card if you have one available and see if that fix the issue. Also just to make sure that it is the PC causing the problem you could try to stream to another device other than the PBO (example: laptop or other computer on the network).

You could also try to defrag the disk where your videos are stored and see if that helps. A scandisk might also be a good idea to see if there are any errors on the drive.

That's all I got for now; please report your finding and maybe other ideas might come up.

    Cheers !!!
