Patriot XT 16Gb is really slow (5 mb/s max)

Hi patriot,
Here's a screen capture of my Patriot XT drive. it always acted this way...
This is my second drive after my first one was lost, and which its write speeds were 20+ mb/s!
I am really disappointed!
you said that the DOK has USB 2 speeds, but as you can see it is the same as a USB 1
I paid a lot of money to get a good quality product, but I didn't get my money's worth.
I tried to do a low level format, but it didn't help.
Please tell me what to do?

Hello,

What motherboard do you have?

Can you try a bench with ATTO? This is what we use for testing. Please bench everything on default.

Also, how are you using your flash drive?

Is your drive being used as removable or a fixed booted drive?

My mother board is Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L
What do you mean how I use it? I need to transfer files from one computer to another so I use it
My drive is only ised as removable
as I said before - I had the same DOK before I lost it, and the writing speeds were around 20-24 mb/s

here's bench from ATTO, although it shows that it writes at 8 mb/s it actually is 5 mb/s

I meant if the drive is being booted on. If this is the case the speeds would definitely be lower since it's always being accessed.

Do you have the latest usb/chipset drivers installed?

ATTO is actually what we use to benchmark. 7 ~ 13MB/s is actually correct.

Therefore the speeds are within spec. It could be that you simply received a faster version of the drive.
Specific builds can differ, some drives can be faster. However 7 ~ 13 is what you should be seeing.

why wont you admit that you have a problem with several drives and RMA them?

The 7 ~ 13 is the test benchmark scores we get using ATTO which usually measures the peak performance. The performance can vary with actual transfers, especially transferring multiple small files.

We can't speak for the users who use our drives, but please understand that these scores can depend on the system they have. This is why we do not advertise the write speeds for this drive. We'll be glad to RMA your drive; but the replacement might be the same as these scores are within specs.

My previous drive worked at the same computer system I use today, and the writing speeds were very different...
Please tell me how to RMA my drive (where to send it etc.).
