PG38G1333EL - Only compatible with Intel 6 Series Platforms based...?

Hi,

I currently have a system with an MSI 880GM-E43 motherboard.

I am interested in getting two sticks (i.e., 2x8GB) of this memory:

But, under "Details" it says:

"Only compatible with Intel 6 Series Platforms based on 2nd Gen Intel Core Processors"

I currently have 2 sticks (2x8GB) of this memory in the system:

and under "Details", the specs for my current memory look exactly the same as the Patriot PG38G1333EL, i.e.:

Speed DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
Cas Latency 9
Timing 9-9-9-24
Voltage 1.5V
ECC No
Buffered/Registered Unbuffered

Does anyone know why this Patriot memory might be "Only compatible with Intel 6 Series Platforms based on 2nd Gen Intel Core Processors"? Also, will this work in my system, together with the 2x8GB memory that I already have (i.e., total 32GB)?

Hey Jim,

Technically yes, our Gamer Series are tested on Intel 6 Series only. However, these should work on your MSI motherboard.

It should work with the memory you have now, however you might have to increase the dram voltage to 1.60-1.70v to get them working together.
