Default Will these 2 tyes of memory work together

I have two different types of Patriot memroy running in my system.

    1) PSD22G800K-I 2 x 1gb sticks PC 6400
    2) PDC22G6400LLK 2 x 1 gb sticks PC 6400

I have had them running in an EVGA 680i SLI mobo for about three years which can run PC 6400 DDR2 ram. I did a clean install of Win 7 64bit and that is when i noticed the voltage settings for the ram are different for each pair. Set one runs at 1.9v while set 2 is rated to run at 2.2v.

Should I buy a matching pair? Or can I run these at some voltage in between? I think, but I am not certain that the prior install had them running at 1.9v.

Thanks for your help and advice,
    Durnock

    Hey Durnock,

Despite rated timings and voltages, our memory should have the same basic programming. Since you've had them for quite some time there should not be any (further) issues running them conjointly.

A rule of thumb when running memory with different speed & voltages is to use the memory with more relaxed timings, frequency. Usually your system will be limited to this. Going forward, you should be fine at default (5-5-5) using 1.90v or you might be able to get away with 4-4-4 at 2.0-2.2v.
