I can't believe how long it has taken just to update the alpha version! I expected a lot more from a company like Patriot.

From the little bit of research I have been doing today, it appears that you are unfortunately falling behind your competitors. For example, the Pivos XIOS DS Media Player was updated in June to ICS from 2.3. Furthermore, it was announced that XBMC will be releasing a full Android version and Pivos appears to have a head start as they have been supporting XBMC. (It helps that one of the XBMC developers works for them. But I am sure XBMC would love to hear from Patriot too.) See here for more details on the XBMC announcement: http://xbmc.org/theuni/2012/07/13/xbmc-for-android/
    well said, my friend.

At the least, man up and admit you crewed up and make a partial refund to us that basically paid to be your lab rats for a "great" media player that doesn't exist in any shape or form.

Because unfortunately they just don't know. Considering that they have missed release date after release date (see this thread's history), I think it's best that they don't tell us as it will most likely just lead to more frustration. I don't think they are missing the release dates on purpose, it appears, as I said before, that they don't have the resources and/or know-how to get this job done properly in a timely manner.

+1 ......... Same issues with the PBO core. I think that most of their software development is being contracted out .... I could be wrong on that though. Remember Patriot is essentially a Hardware manufacturer not a software development company.

    Cheers !!!

You're on the ball there. The guy at their offices mentioned that they're working with outside parties to get it done.

If Patriot is contracting out the android firmware work, your company should really consider finding someone that can give you realistic timelines and regular updates on when the work will be finished. As long as this is taking, whoever is doing it now isn't competent. Even a daily update would be nice. Doesn't the contracted company have to provide some outline and timeframe to Patriot?

Ive had a PBO core for a long time, The software/firmware development was slow and a bit frustrating at first but after awhile it got better and better, and the community got behind it with different mods and firmware to try. I am currently running an alternate firmware on my PBO core and I'm very happy with it. The newer patriot firmware for the core is pretty awesome also. I'm excited about the prospects of Andriod and maybe with XBMC as an app on the alpine I am using my alpine in the bedroom for the time being patiently waiting for the firmware/ OS to mature, I know its seems slow but I'm sure it will be worth it. So Just Chill because its 5 o'clock somewhere! ........Is there a list of compatible keyboards anywhere?

    AT1bob,

Here are some compatible known (all-in-one) keyboard & mouse we've tested...

Alpine Compatible Keyboard & Mouse (All in one)
FAVI Entertainment Wireless Keyboard (Built-in TouchPad/Laser Pointer) - Black
    Gearhead KB3800TPW
    HP LK752AA#ABL
Loftek Rii Touch N7 Multimedia Keyboard with Adjustable DPI Touchpad (black)

For the most part, we haven't seen too many keyboards that don't work.
