Default Patriot Axle USB 32 GB not working on Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello,
I am having problem with a new Patriot Axle USB 32 GB.
Impossible to get it to work with my Windows 7 64 bit computer.

OK with 2 different 32 bit Windows 7 computers and two different TV's...

    Any idea about that problem..

    Thanks everyone.

    Hi Andre,

Can you make sure you have your BIOS, chipset, USB drivers all updated on your motherboard for the Windows 7 machine?

A yellow exclamation mark indicates that the drivers might not have been installed correctly. What is the make and model of the problematic system? Can you try getting the official latest usb drivers from the motherboard manufacturers' website? It's usually under a support/download section.

Another option you can try is to right click the exclamation mark and search fro drivers via web. Let us know how this goes.

    Hi,
Thanks to you all for trying to help me but no luck yet.

There is no more exclamation mark in device manager - All drivers have been updated. The mainboard is ASUS P5Q-E. Drivers updated.
I have tried to uninstall the driver on the USB key and reinstalling it, it says USB key ready...but I still have the same problem.
32GB OK on my 2 other computers (32 bit Windows 7) and my 2 TV'S...

    Hi Andre,

On the system that the Axle does not work in, can you verify that other drives work in this system?

I have 4 other different USB Flash Drives (Lexar - SanDisk) and no problem at all using them with my 64 bit computer system.
Yesterday checked the 32GB Patriot Axle on two other computers. Works fine.
I cannot see what's wrong with that Patriot Axle...
I do not see it Control Panel Computer Management Disk Management.
I see it in Device manager Disk Drives. It's listed as SMI USB Disk USB Device.
If I click Properties and driver Details I see 4 driver entries
    dcsnap.sys
    disk.sys
    partmgr.sys
    snapman.sys

    Any idea would be appreciated.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Andre,

This is odd. What we can do is try replacing the drive under warranty to see if this resolves the issue. Please advise if you want to go this route.

In the meantime, what is the make and model of the problematic system? It sounds like the issue is somehow tied to Windows 7 64 bit systems.

We can run a quick test here to see if we can replicate the issue.

Also, what file system are you using? Fat? NTFS? Can you try reformatting it to see if this works. Try a full format.

    Hi Ben,

I already tried reformatting (NTFS and FAT) that key twice - one quick and one full format with no luck.

I think I would like to try a new key and see if it's ok.

My order was online at Memory Express (in Calgary, Canada) on April 06 2012. Order number: 168202

Could you please send me the RMA and necessary infos so I can ship it back.

Thanks to you and all others who tried to help me.
