Default Wildfire 120GB bad Performance issues

    Hi,

I have the above SSD drive, I can't seam to get good performance out of it, what could be the cause and how could I improve it ?

    Core i7 950
    Gigabyte x58a-ud5 rev.2 f3 BIOS
    12GB RAM
Wildfire 120GB Firmware 5.0.1 (connected to Marvell 9128 SATA 6GB controller)
    2.5TB WD Green
Windows 7 64bit (ultimate) Updated + Driver updated

The marvell 9128 is the cause of your reduced performance. You either need an expensive, high bandwidth RAID card, or an Intel P67/Z68 based motherboard to see the best benchmarks from this drive. Both of these are expensive options that you won't see a huge gain from.

My recommendation would be to put the SSD onto the Intel port, and don't worry about the benchmark numbers. Your real world performance will not suffer greatly from being on the SATA2 port, and will be more reliable on it.
