    HI,
dvd not connected at all. i just tried today to install windows from it but got the same errors and now its not connected.
i am installing from a DISK ON KEY ( i have 6 of them) that is working perfect on all other computers (TESTED 100%). and all original DVD get same error.

    the system spec is:
    - MB GA-X79-UD5 FW F10
    - 4X4GB RAM PATRIOT G2 1600MHz
    - INTEL i7 3820
    - SSD 120GB WILDFIRE 3.2.2
    - ATI 6850 1GB
    - PSU: THERMALTAKE 600W

a few hours ago i tried again to install windows on a STANDARD WD 320GB sata2. and its working with no errors since yesterday. i did a full windows update with no problems and install all drivers, Office x64 2010 etc... (with previous RAM i couldnt install windows on the WD, so maybe the OLD RAM was defective). i am 99% sure that now the problem IS NOT THE NEW RAM OR THE MB BUT THE SSD. because i still cant install windows 7 SP1 x64 on the NEW SSD. (FW 3.2.2 - the one i replaced was 5.0.1) error when EXTRACTING FILES....

i also tested the NEW SSD (3.2.2) on a GIGABYTE P41 SYSTEM and its working great! (INSTALLED WINDWOS AND ALL UPDATES & DRIVERS)

maybe the problem is just the 3.2.2 FW of the SSD? (is the 5.0.1 FW have better support with x79 MB?)
should i try to update the new ssd drive from 3.2.2 to 5.0.1? maybe i didnt need to replace my OLD SSD (FW 5.0.1)?
or maybe Patriot going to release a new FW that will have better support on the INTEL C600 CONTROLLER on the GIGABYTE X79-UD5?

OH and Patriot_Ben, thank you so so much for your help.
what do you think i should try now?

    Ohad.
