I purchased a wildfire 4 months ago and have been using it in an asus p5q deluxe using the intel ich10r sata port.
i was getting speeds of about 200mbs transfer.
I just purchased another identical drive and upgraded the firmware for both first.
i then connected both drives and set the bios to raid and consequently created the raid.
All appeared well i got windows installed and did a drive test and the transfer rate jumped to about 500.
however i then tried to install office and got bsod various times.
as one drive is blank and the other was used is that a problem or do i need to start with two blank drives?
if so what should i do, i could create a windows setup with a traditional drive but how will i set both ssds to zero?
Or should i abandon raid altogether? i wanted raid as one drive only leaves a little space after programs are installed. I certainly prefer the faster speed with raid.
I did try using the other two ports on the motherboard but could only see one drive on the sil5723 so anyone with my board and two wildfires in raid setup your help would be appreciated.
I am using win 7 64 bit ultimate
