    Default Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB SATA 6GB/S 3.5IN 12MS 5900RPM 64MB Hard Drive

    Hi,
I just got two of these drives and the sales rep at NCIX told me they may not work in Javelin....
Does it matter what speed is the hard drive? I know it may run slower but I'm not worry about that...

It definitely should work but speeds will be a bit slower than using faster (7900 RPM and up) drives.

Thank you Patriot_Ben. I'm mainly using it to stream family picture and video.

I have two WD 5400 in this NAS already and noticed that i get ~19 to ~20 transfering file.

Installed 2 more 2TB into it and set it to Raid 5..
Got about 5.7 TB availabale (I have 4x2 TB drive)

So far so good. Transfer speed is around ~20

@Patriot_Ben, Mods should add this drive model to the Sticky called "Hardware and Software Compatibility List", that way we can have a nice central place of which drives people have tested/used on this device that are not part of Patriots original list

Good point. I have already pinged the Javelin PM's to include this to their list.
I'll go ahead and make a reference and note to this thread.

Can you please confirm the exact Seagate model number of your 3TB drives? Thanks!
