Default PBO now not even being recognized

Hi all in a bit of a bind.

I attempted to upgrade my firmware last night. something happened during the installation and now I can't even get it to be recognized. I switch my TV over to HDMI 3 and it is just blue.

Can I reload the OS some how? if you have links to other forum post i'll take those too. I did some searching but I don't know what to call my problem to search

    Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like you might have brick your PBO ... "brick" is the word to search for. If the PBO is still under warranty I suggest you send it back to Patriot Memory for repair. If warranty is expired you could try to revive it yourself but you will require a serial TTL cable to do that. See this link for more details.

    Good luck.

unfortunately I have had my PBO for like 3 years. I believe the problem was I had boot 16 not 18+. that'll teach me to follow the instructions. They said that I'd be fine but going through the forums after searching the word brick it appears that boot loader 16 is NOT safe to upgrade firmware on.

This blows and I don't think I am technical enough to do the TTL cable

Building the TTL cable is pretty straight forward if you buy the CA42 Nokia cable; look on ebay or deal extreme. It is just a matter of cutting the end connector and splicing some pin socket at the end instead and connecting to PBO. No great skill required here and you can probably order the cable for about $4.00 to $6.00.

    Cheers !!!
