how to view chinese tv content?

so i flashed to P02, then flash to the universal chinese firmware.

The problem is, i can browse all the content, but every time i press to play a video, i will get the message in CHinese " not able to play this multimedia file "

this applies to all content. Any idea why?

You mean ALL content? Try to check your network setting. You may need to use 8.8.8.8 for DNS.

yeah, all content. I changed my Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4 and it's still doing the samething. i don't know if it's my PBO's issue. I can watch videos and listen to music normally though. My other problem is now the PBO can't go to standby. I have to power it down then the switch behind.

You should re-flash the firmware. Make sure you read the instruction carefully and wait for it to go through all the reboots.

I tested a few firmwares with Chinese IMS content added. It seems the 1.4.4 Universal Firmware is based on an older version that has the Win7 connnection issue. If you have a USB-TTL cable, there is another firmware with Chinese IMS that is based on ACRyan firmware with newer SDK. I checked that the Win7 sharing is working with that firmware. Since the size of that firmware is quite big, you have to erase the original firmware and do a force flashing. Let me know if you are ready to try that. It is a bit slower though.

I am not sure the telnet command would erase the memory or it just triggers the flash update. If it is the latter case (which I tend to believe), it may not help.

i followed the instruction exactly and reflashed to P02 then to the Universal CHinese firmware. I still can't play all the content in PPS. although this time, I can play some, just a few, from HDPFan. YOu tub don't work. I do have boot code 26. i also have a 250gb hard drive installed.

Most of the PPS cannot be played while some contents in other source cannot be played due to file/server availability or media codec. This is normal. Your wording sounds like none of the streaming work for you. Remember these sites are not designed for PBO or 1073 based player. Just test and remember the sites that work and there are plenty of them (more than half).
Youtube issue is not new for any PBO firmware, but the youtube inside iMax menu is working.

I was about to ask you in your experience, what feeds do work and don't work. So far I get the most luck from HDPfan. Which others do you use Tourist?

HDPfans, HaoIMS, and others are mostly cross referenced entry points to more or less the same content. I have mostly use hdpfan for live TV channels. For TV and movie series, I found QQ, QiYi, and VST also work well. I sometimes use PPTV too. PPS is mostly not supported even with this firmware that supposed to have the region lock removed. In some case, you still need to replace the MAC address to view content. All these sites are continuously changing. So you have try them from time to time and found the ones that work for you. You may also want to try the channels inside iMax that has many Youtube materials either pre-selected, or searchable. You can easily spend one whole day to browse through the available content in just one site. There are definitely more media available then the time you can spend on TV.
