    Default Help - PV731G1600LLK Settings

    I just purchased a Intel hexcore 3.33ghz, and 24 gig of PV7312G1600LLK Sector 7 Viper II, DD3 PC3-12800 1600.

I cant get the RAM to overclock anymore then 1686 mhz, its limiting me for overclocking my CPU.

I am using the XMS profile settings:

    Mem voltage 1.5375
    QPI/Uncore Voltage 1.2375
    Uncore Mutiplier 18
    Memory Mutiplier:Speed 12:1657
    Memory Config Per Channel: No
    tCL 8
    tRCD 9
    tRP 8
    tRASmin 24
    tRFC 100
    tRRD 5
    tWR 12
    tWTR 6
    tRTP 6
    tRC 38
    tFAW 24
    tCWL Auto
    Command Rate 2T

I would like to get these up to 1800ish speed, thanks

    Any help?

    erikcp,

Are you able to get the rated timings to work at 1600 8-9-8-24. Please note that we can only guarantee it to work at these specs. If you're hoping to OC it to 1866+, you'll need to relax the timings to something like 9-9-9 or 9-10-9.

Try increasing the dram voltage to 1.65v and make sure that the bios is updated.

Yes it works fine @ 1600 at 8-9-8-24 default XMS profile.

    Nub question is there a drawback to 9-9-9 or 9-10-9 settings? Is 1600mhz @ 8-9-8-24 faster then 9-9-9-24 @ 1800 as a example?

    Hello,

Real-World wise you wouldn't see a substantial difference, maybe running synthetic benchmarks. Higher Frequency is better for cpu-intensive programs such as video editing or photoshop, where as lower latencies will give you an advantage with gaming. However, going from 1800 9-9-9 to 1600 8-9-8 you wouldn't notice a difference.

Gothca I am looking for max performance in gaming, so I'll go Default XMS
