    Angry MKV problems

Hello, any news on the new version that supports the "new" MKV? I've been VERY happy with my box for years until now, i can't see the MKV movies, just listen it. I just upgraded to PBO P61 but doesn't solve the problem.

Not sure what you mean by... "any news on the new version that supports the "new" MKV?"

Did these MKVs work for you before

How are you creating your MKVs? - from the original, retail physical media? - I use MakeMKV and the many Tbs of DVD and BD MKVs play fine on my PBOs

And the frmw v. you're using is not the most current version (P70Rs is) - but I doubt that the frmw v. you're using is the cause of the issue - it's most likely header compression

Check this link for a couple of possible ways to fix your issue if you're not ripping from original retail media... http://www.patriotmemory.com/forums/...er+compression

    This is header compression issue.
Just update to 70R2 and your MKVs will work without any further reprocessing.
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

Your problem is most likely because you are downloading the MKV's (as aasoror "kind-of" eluded to)--you should be ripping your media from original physical media you have purchased - in any case the frmw aasoror mentioned is available here... http://www.patriotmemory.com/forums/...mware-Releases

OK - just be sure you are using bootcode 18+ if you flash frmw P70R2 - you could search the forum for how you could update your bootcode to a higher version than bc 16 - or send your PBO into Patriot Memory and they will do it for you (free if in warrany, iirc)

Thanks for the info. i thought the bootcode was related to the version of the box, and mine is almost 2 years old. if there's a way to change to bootcode 18 by myself i'll do it. thanks again.

You could also use the semi-official firmware that aasoror put together that can be installed (flash) to a PBO with bootcode 16. Look for P70R2 (BCN) here it is safe to use with bootcode 16.

    Good luck!
