Default Files disappearing and other files being duplicated

I have a problem where I have transferred files via USB onto my PBO core. I transferred some files and now some of the files that were transferred are now missing and some of my files have been duplicated. (I have at least 10-12 files in duplication....like two Weekend at Bernie's with the same name and filesize) I am only having issues in a folder I created called "Movies" and have more than 70 files in that folder.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

Which firmware version you are using ?
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

Thats more than 2 years old firmware.
Download the latest firmware P70R2 and see if it fixes your issues.

I have updated the firmware and still I have files that are duplicated. I have now copied these files to a different folder on the HDD and that seemed to fix the duplication but I am still missing a dozen or so movies.

Connect your PBO to your PC using the mini-USB host port and run a scandisk on the internal HDD. It appear to me as if your file allocation table might be a little screw up. Scandisk should automatically fix that for you.

    Good luck!
