Hi,

I bought an XT Xporter Boost 16G flash drive from NewEgg and it came defective, slowed down my system just by plugging it in, took windows sometimes 5 minutes to recognize it and every other boot or so windows said the driver needed to be formatted before it can be used even though it was. I tried the low level format tool Patriot sent me in my email but that did not work. NewEgg said to return it for a new one.

Anyway, when I get the new one it comes preformatted in FAT32 which only allows Windows to use 4 gigs for ReadyBoost. I want to dedicate all the free space to Readyboost so what is the best way, step by step and properly, to format it using NTFS most likely without damaging the drive?

Thanks do much for any help.
