Getting a Wildfire shipped to me now.
Obviously I've seen the issues with the Sandforce 2281 all over the web. I'm not so concerned as to not buy one of these, for a couple reasons. When specs are even bothered to be listed, most all problems I've seen are on motherboards with Intel chipsets, the Marvell controller has been suspect here too I believe.
Not a fanboy but I know from my looking into ssds, that the Intel Toolbox wouldn't work on AMD chipsets at least in the articles from that time. Also then AMD ahci drivers wouldn't play nice and the msft ones were "suggested".
So since I'm running an AMD 990FX chipset I'd like to know if v3.20 and newer firmware are modified for issues with any particular brand of controller or chipset? Should I just keep the factory firmware (until I possibly get issues) or update the 120 GB Wildfire from my current rig before I even install win7 on it.
Using an ASUS Crosshair V, either hooking up to the AMD or Asmedia SATA III connectors. If you've got an experience with either of those let me know.
Thanks
