Help: PBO Does not recognize 2 of my Flash Drives
I used 1 flash drive fine when I downgraded from P61 to P02, and it also worked fine when I upgraded back up to P53, but now, the light on the flash drive doesn't even light up when plugged into the PBO (except when I first turn it on or first plug it in, and also when I turn it off or unplug the flash drive).
I've tried all 3 different formats, and low-level formats (Fat, Fat32, NTFS). I've tried front and back USB ports. I've tried having it plugged in before flipping the switch and after. I've left it on for 30 minutes. I then tried a second flash drive, same thing.
PBO Is up and running though, I'm able to telnet to it, and also have Infotools .7 installed.
Is there some procedure to get the USB to mount the drive from telnet? I've searched all over the web and these forums, but nothing helped. Surely I can't be the only one with this problem.

Just formatted the flash drive with Gparted in Fedora linux, no go.

FIXED!!!! I can't believe no one else has had problems with P53 not seeing flash drives. Actually, I did find a thread where one simply kept trying different flash drives and restarting the machine a dozen times. I did not have that liberty.
The reason why I went to P53 bootcode 16 is because I wanted to install the rt3572 drivers so that I could use my Linksys WUSB600N Wireless stick. When I installed infosite .7 on P61 (Bootcode 16), the drivers simply would not stick, everytime I restarted the machine, the drivers would vanish, that plus the wifi stick would continue to give a "No SSID found" message.
So I went down to P53 and that's when the flash drive's wouldn't work. I'm going to try P05 next.
I read somewhere, this machine is virtually unbrickable, which I have found to be true, so far. Here's how I fixed mine:
Started reading around and found a thread about the "kill -6 1" command. Well that wouldn't work, I can't access the flash drive. Finally found MiniModding site where it tells you how to install firmware over ethernet. So, that's what I did. Downloaded and installed Filezilla Server, created an anonymous user, placed the P02 file in the correct directory for FTP and issued the commands in Telnet (using Putty). User: cybrmage explains the commands. The kill command will cause the PBO to go blank, but the lights in front will flicker for atleast a minute, this is normal, it is doing its thing. You can watch the progress from FileZilla server.
It was working, the installation started and finished!! I was on my way....Nope. Upon auto-restart, the message that showed up was: "Cannot boot from HDD". So I kept reading and found the thread to short SW3. So I got up to go short the wires and decided to try turning off and on the PBO while the flash drive with P02 was still inserted. At first it did nothing, but after about 5 minutes...Viola! P02 started installing, everything works now, USB flash drives can be read fine on P02 and even P05, which is where I'm at right now. Just not P53, NEVER INSTALL P53, NEVER!!!
This box is a keeper, it's actually my 2nd box, I did the same thing to the first one, except I returned it. I'm not going to RMA this one, and if I ever have trouble with it again, I shall purchase the Nokia cable and go from there. I hope this helps someone out in the future.
Update: I went to version P61 and tried installing the Wifi drivers. it did the same thing to my flash drive. I had to repeat the whole process. I'm starting to think it's because I'm trying to install WiFi drivers. I'm just going to dishout for a WiFi N stick from Meritline, one that is already compatible.
