    Default patriot supersonic 32gb

    Hello
i just bought the patriot supersonic 32gb and when i inserted in my pc usb3 port, it could not be recognized...
Although it is possible to use it in every usb2 ports of my pc.
The usb3 controller is a pcie card from solytech (renesas usb3 host controller)
why is that happening. I also connected in the same controller an external usb3 disk from transcend and it is working fine..

We've actually never tested our SuperSonic Drives with the Renesas USB 3 host controller. Although, we've had a reported issue before where the user was able to get the SuperSonic Drive to work in other systems and ports (USB2 & USB3), and other USB2 and USB3 drives work in the Renesas, however not together. It seems like it might be incompatible.

The only thing we can recommend is double-checking that all of the drivers are properly installed. Otherwise we would suggest contacting the USB Host controller manufacturer to see if they've verified using our Supersonic USB 3.0 Drives.

    Hello,

Some of the usb3 controllers we have tested (off the top of my head) are: Asmedia, Genesys, ViPower, Nec. I'll need to send our Flash Engineers an e-mail for an exact model.

That's a good sign if a reviewer was able to get it to work. We know that compatibility probably isn't the issue here.

I don't suppose you have access to another USB 3.0 hub you can try the SuperSonic in?

Are your drivers updated for the Renesas Controller? Furthermore, even though it registers on your USB 2.0 hubs, can you run a benchmark with ATTO?

Theoretically it should maximize the USB 2.0 speeds at least.

As i understand , you already tested usb flash in NEC controller and it worked. Mine is NEC controller in pci-e . Since i have the same controller , why in mine nothing happens?
What are the drivers of the controller that you tested? can you send them to me?
Yes, i connected usb flash to one of my pc's usb2 ports and of course it worked an tried atto. The numbers are very close to usb2 upper limits (read 34 Mb/s write 28 Mb/s)
And finally, in pci-e usb3 controller there is an extra molex plug on its surface. Should i connect a cable from the power supply unit of my pc? I didn't do so.
When i connect flash in usb3 port nothing happens, it seems that the port doesn't get any electric current, so i think this may be the reason...
