5.5 Gig QT file on mac reports error

small qt's and other files transfer ok and fully but large one's do not.

i first formatted the drive on a mac using the msdos file system and it gave me an error after the 2 hour xfer. i then reformatted to osx and it worked so i double checked my cheaper usb flash drives for it's formatting and they are msdos file system and work on both pc and mac so i reformatted to that system again and it gave me an error.

is there a size limit? i hope not and if it worked with small files with ms dos on a mac the larger ones should work too no? please help because i purchased this drive to share my work in television and i may need to return the device if it doesn't work on both systems.

oh sorry it's a 16 gig drive/flash drive
