I have done it, but have not compiled a step by step guide.

For a rough idea, you need to install my telnet modification, and enable root access.

    Telnet in as Root
Change directories to your HDDs (if you are using raid, I THINK its /mnt/HDD_A or something similar)
Download THIS FILE and copy it to the Valkyrie though its Network Shares

Find the file, then do the following:

    tar -zxvf mediatomb-static-0.11.0-r1-linux-uclibc-armv4.tar.gz
    cd mediatomb
    ./mediatomb.sh

And you should be running the most recent media tomb. You will have to login and run ./mediatomb.sh every reboot, however.
I AM NOT A PATRIOT MEMORY EMPLOYEE.

But they have, on occasion, bribed me with hardware.

I am happy to help, but don't PM me. Post a thread in the appropriate forum so others may benefit and offer assistance.
Your lack of planning is not an emergency on my part.

What are the benefits of doing this? Would upgrading MediaTomb allow the publishing of MP4s via DNLA?

    Cheers!
