PBO won't connect to TV, HDD/LAN LED blinking

Wow thanks snappy46, now this is getting interesting what does "# kill -6 1" do, actually?

Since I'm a newbie, could you please explain the process step by step?
- Telnet: how do I know the PBO's IP?
- Firmware: which firmware do you prefer?

You should be able to find the PBO IP's by looking at your router logs or status etc.... it depends which router you have. It is also possible that the PBO firmware is so out of wack that you can not even connect using telnet or that the PBO never even receives an IP from your router. kill -6 1 forces a firmware update, so as long as you have a USB stick inserted in the PBO with a firmware on it then it should flash that firmware to the PBO.

Firmware preferences varies from user to user; I like P70R2 (BCN) because it allows me to customize my PBO like I want without too many extras that I don't need or want.

Thanks tourist. So this problem was caused by corrupted firmware. Btw since the PBO itself doesn't throw any display to the TV, how can I restore the firmware?

If you can't telnet, you may try SW3 or USB-TTL approach. Just search in this forum.
