You should be able to find the PBO IP's by looking at your router logs or status etc.... it depends which router you have. It is also possible that the PBO firmware is so out of wack that you can not even connect using telnet or that the PBO never even receives an IP from your router. kill -6 1 forces a firmware update, so as long as you have a USB stick inserted in the PBO with a firmware on it then it should flash that firmware to the PBO.
Firmware preferences varies from user to user; I like P70R2 (BCN) because it allows me to customize my PBO like I want without too many extras that I don't need or want.
