    Default Valk nas stopped working?

I have been using my valkrie fine for a few months but suddenly it doesnt show up on the network anymore.. inputting the adress (\\patriot for me) into explorer crashes it. However, I can still access the settings via web browser.

I really don't know what to do with it, I had alot of photos on there I don't want to lose.

Any ideas? thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hey,

first, you should try restarting: a) your NAS b) your router
Try entering \\<IP address> instead of \\patriot, for example i have set up my Valkyrie on a static IP \\192.168.1.222, easy to remember

Tried all that. The valk shows up on the router so I used to ip from there and it brings me to a password login box, but it doesnt accept my password. Same pass still works logging into the valks settings in the browser though. Maybe I have to use the little reset button on the back and set it up again?

The reset button.. uh.. doesn't ACTUALLY do anything... As in, I have monitored the bootloader when its pressed. Nothing.

Anyway, if you want to default the little guy, pull the hdds while its off, power it up, and go into the web interface, reinstall the HDDs (while its on, its okay, it wont hurt it) and reformat them. The valkyrie stores all its info on the HDDs.

Of course, that erases all your files too.
I AM NOT A PATRIOT MEMORY EMPLOYEE.

But they have, on occasion, bribed me with hardware.

I am happy to help, but don't PM me. Post a thread in the appropriate forum so others may benefit and offer assistance.
Your lack of planning is not an emergency on my part.

Reason being why is that i've downloaded some stuff onto the box in busybox using telnet.

I want to remove everything and start again.

Any idea if this is the way?

    Thanks
