Default SOLVED: Composite connection makes tv scrambled/distorted

I have 2 PBO devices. One I had for the past year; bootcode 16 and the other I received about a month ago; bootcode 18. Both have been connected through HDMI for the entire period and working fine.

Recently I had to move some things downstairs due to renovations and have 2 CRT tv's that I have been trying to use. They do not have a HDMI connection so I attempted to use composite but every time it gets connected and turned on the tv picture gets scrambled and I can't see a thing. Scrambled meaning that I can see the menu but the picture on the tv is extremely distorted.

I have changed composite cables and same issue.
I have tried both tv's with both PBO's and same issue.
I have tried a dvd player through the same cables on both tv's and it is fine.
An xbox running through composite on the tv's is also fine.
I changed the firmware to the latest 70R2 megapack and still the same issue on bootcode 16.
On bootcode 18 I am running P04 and same issue.

    Thanks for any help.

What input formate is your TV reporting ?
I am just thinking you might just need to repeatedly press TVSystem on your remote to get either SD in NTSC/PAL ?
