Anyone know how to add chapters to MKV's

I would like to add chapters or split MKV's and AVI's for that matter into chapters or smaller fiiles. Does anyone know of a software that will do it automatically? The 32X fast forward is not working for me.

I use handbrake to convert my dvds to h264 mkvs and I just check the box to keep the native dvd chapters in the file.

You can use mkvmerge and create a chapter file in the chapter editor, save it as xml, then go to global and load the file in chapters then start muxing.
Also Haali Matroska splitter can add chapters.

With mkvmerge i get no picture from the file and with Haali everything is fine till I hit advance to next chapter and the whole PBO resets.

I will keep working on this and try to post a solution.

Try an earlier version of mkvmerge.
I found that I get no picture with later versions but if I remux with 2.4.4 the files play fine.
My firmware is lod but I'd rather remux than take the chance of bricking my PBO.
