61R2 is retracted, is your problems reported above for 70R1 ?
Any way, DTS to DD wasn't a feature, though I would have loved that.

Default No Dolby 5.1 surround with optical cable using [Beta] Release P70R1

I downloaded and installed the newest release [Beta] Release P70R1 and after that I am not getting Dolby 5.1 surround sound coming through the optical cable.

I have the media player hooked up to my surround sound audio receiver using an optical cable, before the P70R1 upgrade I had dolby 5.1 surround on all my ISO movies. Now I only get stereo with the subwoofer output on all movies. I have tried several different settings, reseating the cable etc. but it still is only 2.1 channel sound now.

this is a MAJOR bug. If you use ISO files, and expect dolby 5.1 beware.

My player was version P0020BC18-61 before I flashed the media player.

I am going to try to flash it with ES-51-283G-PCMPBO25-P61 and see if that version restores my dolby 5.1 with ISO and optical cable.

Default missing dolby 5.1 surround sound fix ?

OK this is a followup to my post earlier, I flashed the latest release BC18-70R1, and lost my dolby 5.1 surround.

I flashed a previous version ES-51-283G-PCMPBO25-P61 [Only for Bootcode 18 or higher] and the dolby issue is fixed. My media player now outputs RAW dolby 5.1 surround through the optical audio cable to my surround sound receiver, when I play an ISO file. This is a MUST HAVE feature for me.

Stated simply the bug in the new beta software is : no dolby 5.1 surround through optical audio cable.

Until this is fixed I would NOT recommend downloading release BC-18-70R1 if you watch ISO movies with Dolby surround.

    Hi,
I'm new here. I'm a PBO owner for a couple of weeks (sorry for my english but I'm italian). Today I've upgraded my player to 70R1 and I noticed that the issue of time display of flac files was solved but 1080p mkv playback stops after few seconds. Moreover, exiting IMS menu causes PBO crash in 99% of the cases. These, for me, are heavy limitations and I'm planning to return to P61R1. Generally, how many time is needed for a new fw release?

ISO is just a container, can you clear something for me ? is the problem that the PBO fail to play a DD track that is already in the file (while it used to do so earlier) or that it fails to transform DTS tack to DD (while it used to do so earlier) ?

Have you played with audio output settings in the PBO setup menu ?

Default DD fails to play with SPDIF / new firmware

Hello yes the problem is playing back DD audio with an ISO movie file. The movie I watched was DD 5.1 audio. I played last week with no problems. I watched the same movie last night with BC18-70R1 firmware and was not able to get DD audio 5.1 no matter what settings I changed. I changed settings in the audio setup menu and it did not play DD 5.1 through my surround sound system with the SPDIF cable. I used SPDIF RAW output, and that is the setting that works fine with BETA-BC18-61-IMS firmware.

Today I flashed back to ES-51-283G-PCMPBO25-P61 and the same movie file now plays DD 5.1 with no problems.
