Default New Patriot Valkyrie NAS Replacing Corza NAS

So I had a Corza NAS that went bad and they shipped me a Valkyrie. I had the Corza setup in Raid 1, with 2 - 1 GB Samsung drives. Everything was working fine in the Corza but it would stop responding once a day or so and I would have to power it down and restart it.

So now i put the 2 drives into the Valkyrie and it only recognizes drive A. Even if i flip the 2 drives it still only recognizes drive A. Drive B the "Link / Error" LED continues to flash red. I've looked inside the web login and it only finds HDD A both times. Is it rebuilding? or is there something I need to do? I have all the data backed up externally and guess I could reformat both drives but that would just be a huge pain... and would it even see both drives then? and that defeats the whole point of Raid 1.

Any help would be great! thanks!

If the system doesn't recognize the drive, something might be electrically wrong with it. Check under drive tools to see if its showing up...

I've posted this before, but its unlikely the Valkyrie will recognize the Corza partitioned drives. The Valkyrie is pretty inflexible about how it handles drive partitioning, since it uses the HDD to store configuration information.

Ok so i formatted both Hard Drives to ext2 via the NAS but had to do them one at a time in the HDD A slot.

Then in the NAS web page under disk management and disk settings with both drives inserted I can only see HDD A never HDD B. Even when I flip the drives I still only see HDD A. I also put a file on both drives in the public folder to be sure I'm seeing different drives.

So what is wrong with my HDD B slot? All it ever does it flash red. And when I pull out the drives they are extremely hot, is this normal?

Try only a single drive in slot B, with A empty. If it doesn't show up, switch the drives. If it still doesn't show up, then something may be wrong with the NAS.

So the Valkyrie is the replacement for the Corza... but you can't just swap in the Corza's drives and go?

Does Patriot offer a NAS that will allow me to swap in my Corza drives & get back up and running?
