If your talking about the player not responding for 4-5 seconds before starting the stream in preview then yes you are experiencing the buffer lag. this is a built in "feature" of preview. i get that when i try to play a movie from the hdd although the lag is shorter for hdd access. unfortunately the streams don't seem to work without preview. i have found that you can get the player to cancel the preview by pressing the stop button. hope this helps...

No - I'm not talking about the time after choosing something to play - I'm saying that while using UPnP and when scrolling with the arrow up or down button (moving the blue hilighted box) and trying to go to different contents/choice to find a selection to play -- the PBO "Freezes" on each choice for a few moments as though it's buffering the choice/content and trying to load it - I have to wait a few seconds before I can use the arrow up/down button again to move to another content/choice --- or if I hold down on either the arrow up/down button the PBO will then move the blue hilighted box to other choices rapididly - but once I stop for a second or two on a choice it will freeze there for a moment before letting me move the blue hilight box to the next choice

On a personal note I find the preview stuff annoying except the fact of whether or not it shows invalid file alerts there before actually trying to play something but not worth all the other hangs and annoyances it brings to the plate. So mine is disabled and will stay that way for the duration of the player's life.
Thanks scboley - but my issue is not related to 'preview' - or at least it happens whether preview is enabled or disabled -- I currently have "Movie Preview" disabled in both PBO (P61 & P61 mega) and the 'freezing' issue is still there - the 'blue hilight box' that moves from choice to choice when using the arrow up/down buttons will hang/freeze for approx 6 to 8 seconds on each content offering/choice - that doesn't sound like a very long time unless you are moving the blue hilight box from the 1st choice to th 15th - 15X6 seconds addes up to a very long time when trying to select something to play

no lie! that would drive me bonkers fast! one thing I like about the medebo firmware is, it is quick to scroll the menu.

Yah - It's gotten to the point where I don't use the PBO for UPnP anymore

Guess I'll have to try the Medebo -- I've been flashing around now for a while, I've never been bricked - this cat's on its 9th life (cross my fingers)

Hey - I recall you posting something about the Mededbo freezing up occasionaly - am I remembering this correctly, or not

think it was a playon issue as after the last playon version upgrade the issue has not reared its ugly head again (fingers crossed).

one thing I noticed about medebo is it flashes up slower, so be patient for the return screen. also it may flash up to pal mode in which case you hit the "tv system" button on the remote to cycle back out of pal.

beats the heck out of trying to navigate a rolling pal screen,
enjoy. I like the newest medebo best personally.
