NZB newsgroup download client on PBO

how do you add /opt/bin to PATH?
i tried adding
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/bin
to the end of my rcS, but that does nothing.
when i do echo $PATH after a reboot it still does not show /opt/bin in it.

Also, in my case i lost "connection" to sabnzbd halfway through the setup wizard process.
so i restarted sab and it did it again after sometime. any ideas as to why sab/python is getting killed?
i'm using 70R2 BCN (not megapack), and i have /opt symlinked to hdd root.. n yes i did the remount,rw and the export command is still there in my rcS file after the reboot! help!

Because I'm not too experienced with Linux, I simply copied unrar and all four par2 files (par2, par2create, par2verify, par2repair) from /opt/bin to /bin. They're all pretty small, so space shouldn't be a problem. That's the least complicated and most consistent way of assuring that sab will find the files.

I have no idea why sab is getting killed. I have had no problems whatsoever in that regard (bootcode 27, MedeBO shizzl mod 3.2 FW)

I've been using sabnzbd now for several months on my PBO (bootcode 27, MedeBO shizzl mod 3.2 FW, 1 TB internal HDD w/ ext3 format). I'm quite pleased with it, after learning and accepting its limitations via the PBO.

Because of the PBO's modest memory and computing power, it's best to simply download/unpack one NZB file at a time. Every time I attempted to have it download more than one NZB simultaneously, the program froze up. You can put several NZBs in your queue, but when doing so, make sure that each previously queued NZB is set to "pause" before placing the next one in the queue. After all NZBs are in queue (and paused), then you can start downloading the first. Make sure the current NZB is completely finished (downloaded and unpacked) before starting the next download.

On rare occasion, just prior to unpacking, the program will say that there is insufficient memory (even though I am running no other programs or executing other tasks on the PBO). In that case, I kill sabnzbd, reboot the PBO, restart sabnzbd, and then all is OK.
