Thread: 64GB SDXC issues with Nikon D7000

Unhappy 64GB SDXC issues with Nikon D7000

Periodically my 64GB SDXC card will not be recognized by my D7000. I will be shooting images just fine and then suddenly the camera will report there is no SD card inserted. I have to remove the card and re-insert it.

I've seen a report (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=37220075) that indicates a possible compatibility issue with SDHC cards, I'm wondering if this is also true of the SDXC versions as well?

    Hello,

Our SDXC's are affected by this as well, basically anything that is Class 10. Our engineers are developing a fix soon and hopefully we can release a fix within the next few weeks.

Exclamation Same problem SDHC 16GB LX

Just to keep this issue front of mind. Any idea when a fix will be available?

    Default Notify me, also.

When a fix to this problem has been found, please notify me, also, with information about how to fix my Patriot sdxc 64 card.

Default 16GB LX with similar problem

I have a new 16GB LX card that is seen by my D7000, but the camera failed to read some of the images from it.

I'm assuming (from the comments above) that there will be some way of getting a fixed card when they become available. Can you please notify us when this is the case.

    Thanks

    Philip

Yes, the fix for this should be in the form of a firmware update. We should be a few weeks out at this point. Customers can RMA the cards in to exchange it for working cards.

    Default Same issues

Nikon D7000, updated 1.01 firmware, having issues with a 32GB LX series.

The camera will format the card, then take a few images before seemingly crashing while trying to write - after which the camera can no longer display the images.

All of the other cards I've tested (mostly 2GB and one 16GB) work fine - but not the LX 32GB.

Which way will be faster to get a working card? RMA, or wait for the update?
Where can I find info for RMA? Thanks

The working solution now would be to exchange it for class 6 cards. Customers can choose to use these cards as loaners until the solution is available or keep the Class 6 cards permanently instead.

For now, please be advised that the Nikon D7000 is not on the compatibility list.

Question Any update on permanent fix?

Don't think I can exchange my 64GB SDXC card for class 6.
