Default Can't get any SSID Asus USB-N13 with Airport Extreme

I have an Asus USB-N13 wifi adapter. I opened it up and the chip set is to 3072L. I downgraded to P02, then installed the P61-Beta- (BC16+).mega.YT.4opt firmware. Then I installed the RT3070.zip driver from the adding support for Ralink chip set thread http://www.patriotmemory.org/forums/...ead.php?t=4543 . Driver installed without any error messages. After I did all that I thought I had it working because now when I plug in the adapter it pops up on screen "WiFi Plug-in", and the light flashes on the Asus Wifi adapter. But unfortunately I still get the "Can't get any SSID" error when clicking on Infrastructure (AP).

I have also plugged the adapter into a Windows 7 computer and it seems to work fine. Range is not an issue either, the PBO is right next to the Airport extreme on the desk. Anyone have any ideas? Here is a telnet capture if this helps:
    Thanks

In theory its working fine (as per your ifconfig)

That said, have you verified that there is indeed visible networks in the location where the PBO is installed ?

Have you tried both USB ports (front/back) ?

Do you have a WPS button on the adapter/router ? not sure if the PBO drivers supports it, but it wont hurt trying.
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

Well it might be hard to get it to work with it hard wired at the same time if your lan port is set to dhcp it might not be polling to pull an ip for wlan0 since no address is being shown at all.......what level of security on the wireless are you using? Maybe disable it to where its open and test it and see if that works.

Yes there are 2 visible networks, one with a password and one without, iphones and laptop see them both) Yes tried front and back ports. Yes the adapter has a button, the Airport Extreme does not, I am not familiar on how that system works. But if I choose WPS(AP) from the PBO menu there is a PBC Push button option, but that doesn't seem to get me anywhere.

I unplugged the wired cat5 but nothing changed. I am broadcasting 2 networks, One is a "guest" account with no security. The other has WPA2 personal security. I just disabled it and that did not help either. The menu item I click in the PBO is Infrastructure (AP), is that right?

Looking at the ifconfig output above the wlan0 has had 0 packets in or out so obviously it isn't functioning correctly as packets would have went even just trying to negotiate the link with the router. There must be some kind of incompatibility with the adapter you have and the modules....have you googled and seen anything to do with the adapter and linux modules?

No I have not looked past this forum yet. I bought it at the same time I bought the PBO and the guy said these are compatible. The light on it blinks randomly all the time, non stop.

You could also just have a defective USB Wireless stick; have you tried it on a PC/Laptop/other devices to see if it was working fine??

Actually the whole reason behind the hack is to enable you to use your existing adapters. If you are going to buy a new one any way why not buy a compatible one ?
I think the seller shouldn't have claimed compatibility because thats not true. I would suggest you return it to the seller (if possible) and get one with stock compatibility (RTL based).
