    Exclamation Problem with audio

I am having a problem with not getting audio on divx encoded files that use mp3 audio. If the file has AC3 audio, it works fine. With mp3 audio, I get video but no audio at all. The PBO is connected directly to a 42" Insignia TV (Model NS-42E570A11) through HDMI, and I have already tried all of the hdmi ports with no success.

Is anyone else having a similar issue?

I have tried both, with neither setting working. (Both TV and PBO)

Have you tried a different firmware and what version are you currently running? Press stop and pause on the remote at home screen to see the information.

Bootcode 25, latest P61 beta firmware. Originally had the P05 firmware, and we upgraded to the beta as it listed HDMI compatibility updates....

Unhappy tried many different files, no luck

Just d/l'd movies I'm trying, so did not convert. I have used handbrake to convert to .mkv with AC3 audio and they work fine.

UPDATE: AAC apparently does not work when converting using handbrake, only AC3 audio

I am just using a random sample of digital files I have, so am not doing any converting myself. All I have been able to tell is that divx/xvid files using mp3 audio don;t get sound, but mkv files created from those fiels using handbrake work fine.

Well, crud. I finally had a chance to try it on another display device, and it works fine. Seems to be an issue with the TV....

Thanks for the update, if you have determined its a handshake issue related to your TV and the PBO (i.e. your TV working fine with other devices passing mp3 audio tracks) please consider posting in the TV compatibility thread.
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO
